Helpdesk Directions

 

As a reminder, here are the three ways requests can be entered into the helpdesk by order of priority:

 

1.  First try to use the web ( www.northcottco.com/helpstar ) as shown below in this document.

 

2.  If you are unable to use the web, then send an e-mail to helpstar@americinn.com

 

3.  If you are unable to use the web, or send an e-mail, please call the helpdesk at 952-294-5235.

 

As always please use the helpdesk instead of contacting someone in the IT department directly.  It allows us to track recurring problems so they can be permanently resolved as well as insuring that you are able to get a quick response.  It also provides for the quickest resolution to your problem, as someone is always checking the help desk regardless of who is in the office or not.

 

How to Login and Use the HelpSTAR Web Interface

 

 

If you are in the home office your Homepage on your web browser should be set to http://www.northcottco.com/helpstar you can then logon from here.

 

If not, type above address into your address line in your browser.

 

The above link can also be reached on the Northcottco website, www.northcottco.com under employee resources.  Just click on the computer icon on the bottom right of the page.

 

Once you have successfully browsed to that page, you will see the following:

 

 

For home office employees, or remote users with laptops, enter your FULL NAME into the User Name box as shown above.

 

For those of you at the restaurants or hotels your username looks like the following:

For Perkins:   i.e. Perkins Chaska

For Houlihans:  i.e. Houlihans Bloomington

For AmericInn:  i.e. AmericInn Tucson

 

Enter you password into the Password Box.

 

If you need to know your username or password, please e-mail the helpdesk at helpstar@americinn.com or call 952-294-5235 and someone will get back to you with the correct information.  PLEASE DO NOT USE THE FORGOT YOU PASSWORD? LINK ON THE LOGIN PAGE

 

 

This will bring you to the following screen:

 

 

To open a new help desk request click on the top left button named “New Service Request”, and the following page will appear:

 

 

Just choose a Problem Type from the drop down menu, and type in a Title and Memo and click the save button at the bottom of the page and your request will be recorded.
